Filming a wedding at Washingborough Hall

Washingborough Hall is a Georgian manor hotel three miles from Lincoln - family-run, wrapped in secluded gardens, with a private gate to the village church and an orangery-style Winston Room seating 110.

Family-run venues have a warmth that reads on camera - staff who know the couple's names, rooms that feel lived in. I film that warmth rather than working around it.

Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Washingborough Hall yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.

How I'd film your day here

  • The garden and gazebo give an easy outdoor ceremony option with soft, tree-filtered light.
  • The private church path is a lovely processional sequence if you're marrying at the village church.
  • High-ceilinged Georgian rooms with full-length windows make preparation coverage effortless.
Garden and village setting allow aerial shots where permitted - checked with the hotel and local restrictions in advance.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
