Filming a wedding at Nancarrow Farm

Nancarrow Farm near Truro is Cornwall's definitive feast-wedding venue - a working organic farm with orchards, roses and open fields, where the food comes from the land around you and dinner is the main event.

Nancarrow weddings are built around the table, and so is the film - fire pits, feast boards, toasts that run long. I cover it like the food documentary it half is.

Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Nancarrow Farm yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.

How I'd film your day here

  • Fire-cooked feast preparation is coverage gold - flames, hands, steam and the farm behind it.
  • Orchard ceremonies film dappled and informal - I stay close and let the setting breathe.
  • Long-table candlelit dinners in the barn are the film's warm, loud, joyful heart.
Open farmland suits drone establishing shots with the farm's permission and suitable weather.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
