Filming a wedding at Scorrier House

Scorrier House near Redruth is an 18th-century family house in 450 acres of woods and parkland - timeless, flexible, and quietly one of Cornwall's most elegant estates, with converted stables for staying guests.

Four hundred and fifty acres is a landscape, not a garden, and I film it like one - long lenses across parkland, the house appearing and disappearing through trees, your day unfolding inside it.

Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Scorrier House yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.

How I'd film your day here

  • The house's Georgian face across the lawns gives classic, symmetrical establishing frames.
  • Woodland and parkland walks yield portrait variety most Cornish venues can't offer inland.
  • Candlelit dinners in the house film with heirloom warmth - this is a home, and it shows.
Estate scale suits aerial establishing shots, arranged with the family and subject to conditions.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
