Filming a wedding at Irnham Hall
Irnham Hall is a Tudor manor in one of Lincolnshire's prettiest estate villages - honey-coloured stone, walled gardens and parkland, hired exclusively for a small number of weddings each year.
Scarcity keeps Irnham special: the village, the stone, the quiet. Films here trade spectacle for atmosphere, and they're often my favourite kind.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Irnham Hall yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- Honey-stone facades hold warm light all afternoon - portraits here need no golden hour to glow.
- The walled garden gives sheltered, private ceremony and drinks coverage.
- Estate village lanes offer a gentle wandering-portrait route straight from the gates.
Estate parkland suits drone work where the hall permits - confirmed ahead of the day along with conditions.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
