Filming a wedding at Stubton Hall

Stubton Hall on the Lincolnshire-Nottinghamshire border is a Grade II Regency country house in private parkland - fully exclusive use, 25 bedrooms on site, and built for wedding weekends rather than wedding days.

With everyone staying under one roof, the film starts the night before and ends with breakfast - and the best moments are often outside the schedule entirely.

Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Stubton Hall yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.

How I'd film your day here

  • Morning coverage with the whole party on site captures an energy day-guests-only venues never have.
  • The pillared south front and lawns give classic Regency portrait frames.
  • Candlelit dinners in the house film warm and intimate - I shoot these documentary-style, uninterrupted.
Private parkland suits drone establishing shots, arranged with the venue and subject to safe conditions.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
