Filming a wedding at The Granary Estates
The Granary Estates on the Cambridgeshire-Suffolk border near Newmarket is one of East Anglia's most polished barn venues - two flint-and-timber barns, a courtyard, and food with a serious reputation.
Luxury barn weddings are about warmth, and the Granary has it in the walls. I film the flint and timber close, the courtyard wide, and keep the day's pace relaxed on screen.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at The Granary Estates yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- The Flint Barn's exposed walls and roof lanterns give ceremonies natural top-light that flatters everyone.
- Courtyard drinks receptions film like a garden party - movement, laughter, long-lens candids.
- The surrounding stud-country fields give big-sky portrait backdrops minutes from the door.
The barns and open farmland suit aerial establishing shots, subject to venue permission and conditions on the day.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
