Filming a wedding at Oxnead Hall
Oxnead Hall in the Bure valley is one of Norfolk's most elegant wedding venues - a historic hall with Italianate terraced gardens stepping down toward the river.
Those terraces are a filmmaker's dream: levels, lines and staged depth in every direction, with soft Norfolk light to finish the job.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Oxnead Hall yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- The terraced gardens give natural elevation for layered, cinematic wide shots.
- River-valley light in the late afternoon is soft and directional - the portrait hour writes itself.
- The formal structure of the gardens contrasts beautifully with candid, handheld guest coverage.
Yes - Norfolk is part of my regular coverage, and I've filmed weddings in the county before (see Georgeena & Daniel at Curds Hall Barn).
Not at Oxnead specifically - this guide is for couples planning a wedding there. I scout new venues ahead of the day, so coverage is planned, not improvised.
