Filming a wedding at Hockwold Hall
Hockwold Hall is a Tudor manor on the Norfolk-Suffolk border with an unstuffy, exclusive-use approach - your wedding takes over the whole estate, gardens and all.
Exclusive use is the quiet superpower for a documentary film: no strangers in shot, no restrictions on movement, just your people and the whole place to themselves.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Hockwold Hall yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- Tudor brick and wisteria-clad walls give warm, textured backdrops all day.
- The gardens handle everything from ceremony to fire-pit evenings on camera.
- Full-estate freedom means I can follow the candid moments wherever they happen.
A straightforward run up the A11 - comfortably standard coverage.
Not yet - this guide is written for couples planning a wedding there.
