Filming a wedding at Goodnestone Park
Goodnestone Park is 1,600 acres of east Kent parkland around a Georgian mansion with Jane Austen connections - exclusive use, walled gardens, and one wedding at a time.
Gardens with real history give a film texture: the famous walled garden alone offers half a dozen distinct backdrops within a two-minute walk.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Goodnestone Park yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- The Portico ceremony sets vows against the mansion's Georgian frontage.
- The celebrated walled gardens are a portrait goldmine from spring to autumn.
- 1,600 acres of parkland means the film breathes - wide, quiet, unhurried establishing shots.
Comfortably - east Kent is standard coverage with no travel fees.
Not yet - treat this as a planning guide for your day there.
