Filming a wedding at Core Clapton

Core Clapton is a restored neo-classical chapel in Hackney - columns, height and light, run as a community space and loved by couples who want something beautiful without the formality.

It's a blank-canvas venue with genuinely good bones, which means the film gets both architecture and whatever personality you pour into the room.

Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Core Clapton yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.

How I'd film your day here

  • The chapel's height and symmetry give the ceremony real presence on camera.
  • Couples style this space themselves - those personal details earn their place in the edit.
  • Clapton and the surrounding streets add an east London texture between chapters.
They're often my favourites - personality beats polish on film every single time.
