Filming a wedding at Islington Town Hall
Islington Town Hall has quietly become one of London's favourite places to get married - a grand assembly hall, an elegant marble entrance, and Upper Street on the doorstep for everything that follows.
It's a venue that suits couples doing London properly: a beautiful civic ceremony, then a reception at a restaurant, pub or space that actually means something to them.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Islington Town Hall yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- The assembly hall's scale gives ceremony coverage real presence - I use the balcony sightlines where access allows.
- The entrance and steps handle the confetti moment beautifully.
- The walk down Upper Street with your people is a sequence I'd fight to keep in any edit.
Happily - some of my favourite London footage is speeches in a room above a pub. Small spaces, big feelings.
Not yet - this guide is for couples planning a ceremony there.
