Filming a wedding at The Godolphin
The Godolphin at Marazion looks straight across to St Michael's Mount - a style-led boutique hotel whose terrace weddings borrow one of the most iconic views in Britain.
St Michael's Mount does not need help from a colour grade. The craft here is timing - tide, light and the Mount's changing moods - and building the day's coverage around them.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at The Godolphin yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- Vows with the Mount across the water are the frames that make couples book Cornwall in the first place.
- Tide timing changes the picture completely - causeway exposed or island afloat - and I plan portraits around it.
- The hotel's contemporary coastal interiors film clean and bright for preparation and dinner coverage.
Marazion's shoreline and the Mount are heavily protected airspace - aerial options assessed carefully per date, with the view doing the work regardless.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
