Filming a wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall
Old Marylebone Town Hall is the most storied register office in Britain - grand steps, columned frontage, and ceremony rooms that have hosted more famous weddings than most cathedrals.
Town hall weddings move fast, and that's their charm: a short, punchy ceremony, an iconic exit onto the steps, and then a London day that's entirely yours to shape.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- The steps exit is the shot everyone comes for - confetti, taxis, the lot - and I cover it from two angles.
- Ceremony rooms are elegant but brisk; I'm positioned and rolling before anything begins.
- The surrounding streets give the film its London texture - I build a short city sequence into the edit.
Preparation. Everything is scouted and positioned in advance, because there are no second takes at a register office - and that discipline is where experience shows.
Not yet - this guide is for couples planning a ceremony there.
