Filming a wedding at NoMad London
NoMad London occupies the former Bow Street Magistrates' Court in Covent Garden - a hotel of dark romance, its three-storey glass atrium and moody interiors setting the tone for dramatic, fashionable weddings.
NoMad's palette is shadow and warmth, and the film should honour it - I expose for atmosphere, not brightness, and let the venue's drama do its work.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at NoMad London yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- The Magistrates' Ballroom's original courtroom features give ceremonies gravitas and story.
- The glass-roofed atrium restaurant films lush and green even at night.
- Covent Garden doorstep portraits - cobbles, columns, night neon - extend the film into the city.
Covent Garden airspace excludes drones; this is an interiors film, and NoMad's interiors are the point.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
