Filming a wedding at Le Talbooth
Le Talbooth sits on the banks of the River Stour at Dedham, in the heart of Constable Country - a Tudor house, riverside lawns and scenery that has been painted for centuries because it simply works.
For a videographer, the river is the gift: movement, reflections and a natural leading line through almost every exterior frame.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Le Talbooth yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- Riverside couple portraits at golden hour are the signature shot - water, willows and warm light.
- The bridge and lawns give gentle motion for gimbal sequences between the formalities.
- Interior spaces are intimate, so I keep kit minimal and work close and quiet.
The river valley is stunning from above; flights depend on venue permission and conditions, which I confirm in advance.
Not yet - this is a guide for couples planning a wedding there. I always visit or arrive early to scout a new venue, planning around light, sound and sightlines.
