Filming a wedding at Launcells Barton
Launcells Barton near Bude is a Grade II country house and barn with two nights of exclusive use, views to the Cornish sea, and family-run touches like sunset tractor rides for every couple.
The sunset tractor ride is already in the film - a couple, a trailer, golden light over north Cornwall. Some venues you have to work for the magic; here it's on the schedule.
Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Launcells Barton yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.
How I'd film your day here
- The Mill Barn's timber and stone film warm and generous under evening light.
- The walled garden gives sheltered ceremony coverage with soft, even light on faces.
- That tractor ride at dusk, filmed from a follow vehicle, is the sequence guests will rewind.
North Cornwall's coastal fringe films beautifully from the air - flights arranged with the venue and assessed per date.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
