Filming a wedding at Greenstead Hall

Greenstead Hall near Halstead is a 52-acre exclusive-use Georgian estate - lakeside views, a vaulted flint event hall and accommodation for over fifty guests, newly positioned in the county's luxury bracket.

Estates that sleep the whole party give the film a beginning and an end beyond the day itself - arrivals on Friday, farewells on Sunday, and everything golden in between.

Honest note: I haven't filmed a wedding at Greenstead Hall yet - this guide is written for couples planning one there. Before any new venue I scout in person or arrive early on the day, walking the ceremony and reception spaces and planning shots around the light, so nothing is left to chance.

How I'd film your day here

  • The vaulted flint hall gives receptions texture and height rare in Essex.
  • Lakeside frames at dusk close the film with stillness and reflection - literally.
  • Fifty-plus guests staying over means genuine, unposed morning and evening coverage.
52 private acres suit aerial work well - flights arranged with the estate and subject to conditions.
Not yet - consider this a planning guide. Before any new venue I visit or arrive early on the day to scout ceremony sightlines, light and sound, so the coverage is planned rather than improvised.
